Colorado Avalanche shirt for fan
The Colorado Avalanche is a professional ice hockey team based in Denver, Colorado. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Avalanche have won two Stanley Cup titles, both in 1996 and 2001.
The Avalanche play their home games at Pepsi Center, which they share with the NBA’s Denver Nuggets and the WNBA’s Colorado Chill. They are owned by Stan Kroenke, who is also the owner of Arsenal F.C. of the English Premier League and Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL).
The franchise was founded as Quebec Nordiques in 1972 as part of the World Hockey Association (WHA). After playing for seven seasons as one of the WHA’s original teams, Quebec joined the NHL in 1979 as part of a merger between the WHA and the NHL that brought four WHA teams into the League. The franchise moved to Denver after only two seasons in Quebec due to financial difficulties; it was sold to New Jersey real estate tycoon Howard Baldwin who relocated it to East Rutherford, New Jersey, where they were renamed as New Jersey Devils before relocating again to their present location: Newark, New Jersey — now known as Prudential Center — where they
